Conference at The University of Hong Kong:
Documentary Linguistics – Asian Perspectives
(25 – 27 May 2017)
After the success of DLAP-1 hosted at The University of Hong Kong in April 2016, we are happy to announce the 2nd Documentary Linguistics – Asian Perspectives event, to be held at The University of Hong Kong, 25-27 May 2017.
We will again combine workshops with conference presentations. The theme for DLAP-2 will be ‘Transformations and Sustainability’. The aim is to look at how documentary linguistics (a) impacts on communities and society, in terms of the social transformation that it can bring about; (b) inspires students and scholars, in terms of the role it plays in training and advancement of the language sciences; and (c) shapes individual and institutional horizons in creating future opportunities for minority voices.
Abstracts, of maximum 300 words, on all aspects of Documentary Linguistics, but especially on work aligned with the conference theme, are invited for submission by 1 October 2016.
(**UPDATE: abstract submission deadline extended to 1 November 2016. Notification of acceptance will be given by 30 November 2016.)
As with DLAP-1, a number of travel grants will be made available to individuals facing financial challenges who wish to attend the workshop and the symposium.
